Rachel Pokorney, LCSW
Rachel is an experienced and expertly trained clinician with a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University. She works interactively with her clients to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their goals in order to lead a more satisfying and fulfilling life. She utilizes research-validated treatment methods, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals and couples improve relationships (romantic, friends, family, coworkers, etc.), decrease anxiety and stress, and alleviate sadness or depression. Her therapeutic style balances warmth and validation with being genuine and direct. Rachel specializes in a growth-oriented approach, which provides clients with the tools and support they need to reach their fullest potential.
Tracie is a Licensed Social Worker, with a Masters in Social Work from Fordham University, who works with adults and teenagers. She engages in an interactive process to help adult individuals deal with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and career concerns. She also works with teenagers, helping them deal with issues that pertain to their stage in life, such as family issues (parental divorce, sibling problems), peer pressure (drinking, drug use, and sex), exploring career paths, college & career planning, anxiety, depression, and stress. She includes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness to help attain emotional well-being, improve interpersonal relationships, and develop skills to cope with life’s challenges.
Paula has a Masters in Social Work from New York University. She is experienced in helping individauls, who struggle with anxiety and depression, by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. She assists adults and teenagers in confronting and challenging self-destructive thoughts and behavioral patterns. Her supportive and non-judgmental approach allows people to feel at ease as they work to remove the roadblocks that prevent them from attaining their goals. Paula also specializes in helping teenagers, single adoptive parents, and couples deal with the psychological issues surrounding adoption, such as preparation to adopt, psychoeduation, handling behavioral issues, understanding the effects of past experiences on adopted children, and family integration.
Danica is a Sex Therapist and Licensed Social Worker with a Masters in Social Work from Columbia University, who works with adult individuals and couples of any orientation. She helps people deal with sexual issues, such as low sexual desire, sexual incompatibility, frequency, rapid/delayed ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, pain, and trauma. She also helps people improve associated relationship issues, such as communication, intimacy, compatibility, infidelity, and trust. Danica provides a safe and comfortable environment in which people can take steps to improve their lives and find their own paths toward fulfillment and satisfaction. She utilizes a variety of therapy techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.
